Gross and Fine Motor Skills
Our classroom is a mixed classroom of kids with mild to moderate articulate or social delays. This allows for each child in the classroom to be a model in one area of development and also learn from their peers.
ABA at SpeakIndy looks like play! Walking into our classroom, you’ll first notice that our kids are having fun whether they’re conducting science experiments, digging in the garden in the dramatic play area, building a giant snowman with white boxes, running and jumping through our daily obstacle course, or ordering ice cream at the “SpeakIndy Sweet Shop”. We take an experiential based approach to learning and embed your child’s individual learning goals into our classroom experience. Best of all, you’ll find highly trained staff- Registered Behavior Technicians, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts-who truly love working with your child!
In the morning session, your child will attend our preschool setting that includes four hours of small and whole group learning activities in a 3:1 ratio classroom. This provides your child the opportunity to target social and school readiness skills in the natural environment. In the afternoon session, your child will work 1:1 on their individual goals with a Registered Behavior Technician. We provide comprehensive ABA programming which includes learning in the areas of adaptive, school readiness, language and communication, social, and personal management skills. Their program is supervised multiple days per week by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who is providing supervision, weekly program updates and parent training opportunities. If you’ve explored ABA in the past and didn’t think it was a great fit for your child, we encourage you to stop by our classroom for a visit!
